Problem Solvers


Usually when I consider my kids’ futures, it’s in terms of what I want them to accomplish, and what I want them to become.

But sometimes it’s easier to rule certain things out, as I once did half-jokingly, and have done quite seriously as well.

Today I learned about a different way of thinking about it, which centers on making them part of the solution – problem solvers – rather than sitting something out entirely.

Someone must have told Rogaine® that I just turned 40.

Shortly after my birthday, they sent me some of their product that treats Hereditary Hair Loss – thinning at the crown of the head – in what has to be considered one of the sickest burns of all time.

I just wish they’d sent it twenty years ago, when I could have prepared myself.

Mo Kids Mo Problems

Parenting is stressful.

It’s challenging, it’s tiring, and worst of all, it’s important. I don’t care if you have one kid, two kids, five kids, or are the Duggars. Being a parent is like living inside a pressure cooker. And, it gets hotter every day.

Especially when you turn up the heat by having multiple children. You know what they say: Mo kids mo problems!

I Am the Hardest Working Dad in the World

I am the hardest working dad in the world. (Granted, I’m only a dad, so it’s a low bar, but my gender is not my fault. It’s GOD’s fault!)

You’re probably wondering what makes me, Dad and Buried, the hardest working dad in the world. Well, for starters, I have a ten-week-old baby and a five-year-old son and both of them are still alive!

Heart Murmuring

Heart Murmuring

I’m lucky.

Heart disease isn’t a big trend in my family. Sure, there’s some, my grandfather had some heart issues that contributed to his failing health, and my other grandfather died from a heart attack before I was old enough to remember meeting him.

Aaand now I’m reconsidering my luck. Especially since my doctor recently told me that my triglycerides were a little high – which apparently is not a good thing, because when I tried to fist-bump him he got mad.
