Abusement Park: A Visit to Sesame Place

I am what some people might call a bit of a curmudgeon. If I am in a mood, it doesn’t take much to frustrate me and set me on edge.

Thankfully, my son is the perfect antidote for that tendency, with his unique ability to refocus my perspective and make me happy. He’s not a panacea, but my experience this past weekend visiting Sesame Place, the Sesame Street themed amusement park outside of Philadelphia, showed me just how much good he does for my daily mood and overall outlook.

Because holy shit that place is a nightmare.

Copy Brat

A little while back I ran a series of posts about my son’s increasing vocabulary and my attempts to decipher his mangled pronunciations.

The series petered out; not because I’m lazy (maybe a little) but because my son’s language skills are developing too fast to make those posts sustainable.

The dude knows too many words. Even worse, he can now repeat back just about everything we say.

Gulp.

Parenting is Boring

Parenting is boring.

My son and I don’t have a lot in common. Aside from shockingly good genes and a mutual appreciation for Mom and Buried, our differences outweigh our similarities. Being that he’s only two, I imagine it will be that way for some time.

But I hope we find some common ground soon because without it, hanging out with my son is boring.
