I love my kids, I just hate parenting
Today is my wedding anniversary.
This is a big year for Mom and Buried and me. Not necessarily because the eighth anniversary is a milestone, or that our eleventh year together is a milestone. No, it’s a big year because after surviving the newborn/baby/toddler gauntlet, we are about to re-enter the arena.
Something tells me that, come January, when we’re officially “married with children,” we’ll need to be more united than ever.
Every parent craves, nay, every parent requires some time away from the kids.
Mom and Buried and I just had some, when we went away on a babymoon for a few days over the weekend.
Unfortunately, when you have kids, being away from them can be a bit of a mixed bag.
This Father’s Day, we took our son to his first amusement park. (Because what do you get for the dad who has everything? LOWER BACK PAIN!)
I guess, technically, it was his second amusement park, but that’s only if you count our visit to Sesame Place when he had just turned two. But he doesn’t even remember that and I’m still doing my best to forget it. This trip was a lot more successful.
Somehow, despite the fact that “Dutch Wonderland” isn’t a cool nickname for Amsterdam, even the adults had fun!
Mom and Buried thinks I use my iPhone too much. She’s probably right.
But when you’re managing a social media empire, you need to keep your constituents happy! Where else can my Twitter and Facebook (and Instagram!) followers turn when they want to read about someone who hates their kid?
I promise to stick around as long as you’ll have me. Especially now that I got a new portable phone charger! Do you want one?

Everyone knows children get special treatment. We whine and complain about how annoying they are, frustrating they are, how stressful they are, and then when they actually do something worthy of punishment? We treat them more leniently than the NFL treats the Patriots.
We’re so blinded by stupid unconditional love that we give our kids more free passes than CVS gives coupons. Never is this glaring inequality more prominent than around the holidays.
Mother’s Day gifts are the perfect example.
